The Weeks of Science and Innovation in the Canary Islands 2024 (SCIC24), promoted by the Government of the Canary Islands through the Ministry of Universities, Science, Innovation, and Culture and the Canary Islands Agency for Research, Innovation, and the Information Society (ACIISI), celebrated their twentieth anniversary with a special edition that engaged citizens and institutions throughout the archipelago.
An audiovisual production team and photographers documented over eighty activities organized across the islands, capturing every moment with skill and compiling nearly a thousand images that showcase the vibrancy of science and innovation in the Canary Islands. These visual materials, created by professionals such as Rafa Avero, Rita Sanbe, Tecnicam El Hierro, and Aarón S Ramos, are not only a valuable keepsake but also a direct invitation to participate in future editions.
This special edition also involved the collaboration of over sixty entities, including museums, scientific associations, universities, research centers, and public and private institutions. These collaborators contributed additional materials, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between the public and private sectors in promoting knowledge.
In addition to the images, testimonial videos, short films, and documentaries have been produced and shared, dynamically and attractively narrating the success of SCIC24. The activities, which included lectures, workshops, screenings, and audio content, demonstrated how science and innovation can inspire and engage society.
This twentieth edition of the Weeks of Science has been a tribute to the efforts of so many individuals dedicated to generating and disseminating knowledge, as well as an example of how science and technology can enrich the social and cultural fabric of the Canary Islands.
