The 21st edition of the Subida Arona-La Escalona, held in November on the roads of Tenerife, was an unforgettable event. Simone Faggioli, an 11-time European Hill Climb champion, was the undisputed star, clinching victory and setting a new absolute course record with an incredible time of 2’14’’584. Behind the wheel of his Nova Proto NP01, the Italian driver delivered a flawless performance, dominating from start to finish and proving why he is considered a legend in motorsport.
In contrast to Faggioli's dominance, local hero Lauren García experienced a race filled with both emotion and misfortune. Leading the standings up until the second run with his Nova Proto NP01 Judd, a mechanical failure prevented him from improving his time, relegating him to third place. Despite the disappointment, García was applauded by the crowd for his talent and determination.
Completing the podium, second place went to another great Italian driver, Christian Merli, who once again demonstrated his competitiveness with a solid and precise performance at the wheel of his Osella PA 21 4C Turbo.
Among the Touring Cars, the spotlight was on Juan Carlos Brito, who dominated every run in his Ford Fiesta R5 Plus, securing an uncontested victory and cementing his position as a leader in the local motorsport scene.
However, the true success of the Subida Arona-La Escalona extended beyond the track performances. The event’s organization, passionately led by Escudería Zapatera Sport and its president José Rodríguez, turned this edition into an extraordinary experience, attracting international drivers from Italy, Portugal, Germany, and the Canary Islands. Every curve of the course resonated with adrenaline, speed, skill, and spectacle.
This already beloved and highly respected event has now reached a new level of prestige, establishing itself as one of the most important competitions in the hill climb calendar. With this edition now complete, attention is already turning to the future: Subida Arona-La Escalona is gearing up to continue writing its history, with new challenges and more thrills in store for motorsport fans.
