Among the measures, the creation of a technical office to assist municipalities in drafting waste prevention plans, the promotion of tax incentives to encourage the use of compost produced in the Canary Islands, and the amendment of the Canary Islands Waste Law are included.

Zapata: "This plan outlines concrete, realistic, and economically defined actions, developed in consensus with the private sector, local councils, and aimed at fostering our economy and local employment."

The Ministry of Ecological Transition and Energy, led by Mariano H. Zapata, has presented the 2024-2026 Circular Economy Action Plan, a tool designed to accelerate the transformation of the islands' economic model towards a more sustainable and efficient system, based on resource reuse, innovation, responsible waste management, and the promotion of local employment.

Key actions include a technical office for municipalities, tax incentives for compost, and investments in the recycling industry.
