The Tenerife Cabildo increases aid to third-sector entities distributing basic necessity products to 2 million euros, raising the budget by more than 15.5% compared to 2023.
This was announced by the Councillor for Social Action, Águeda Fumero, who stated that the application period will be open from January 21 to February 4.
Fumero explains: "Our goal is to support, with financial resources, the work of distributing basic necessity products to third-sector entities associated with the Tenerife Isla Solidaria program, aimed at alleviating situations of need in the population."
More specifically, the councillor emphasized that “with this aid, we aim to address the basic needs identified among Tenerife's citizens, paying particular attention to individuals and families with limited economic resources who struggle to meet these needs on their own," as well as “supporting the organizational structure of entities engaged in distribution, to help maintain their current staff or hire additional personnel."
The guidelines for this call stem "from continuous dialogue with third-sector entities distributing food and essential products, improving them to streamline justification and granting processes, and incorporating a new criterion, allocating a specific amount to entities registered and using the Online Volunteering Platform, promoted by the public company Sinpromi through the Tenerife Isla Solidaria Program."
