Tenerife took center stage at the Feria Internacional de Turismo (FITUR) 2025, confirming itself as one of the world's most appreciated and cutting-edge destinations.
The island’s participation, coordinated by the Cabildo of Tenerife, highlighted a tourism strategy based on sustainability, innovation, and public-private collaboration, reaffirming its commitment to ensuring quality tourism that respects the environment and enhances the quality of life for its residents.
The president of the Cabildo, Rosa Dávila, emphasized how Tenerife continues to position itself as a model of responsible and innovative tourism, thanks to initiatives integrating renewable energy, universal accessibility, and a diversified tourism offering that balances economic growth with the protection of natural and cultural heritage.
Sustainability was one of the central themes of the island’s participation at FITUR.
New collaborations with international operators such as EasyJet, TAP Air Portugal, and Lastminute.com were signed to promote sustainable routes to Tenerife, strengthening the island’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
Additionally, cruise tourism played a key role, with the port of Santa Cruz preparing to welcome over a million cruise passengers in 2025, reinforcing its strategic position in the Atlantic.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife: Capital of Urban and Conference Tourism
Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the island’s capital, stood out at FITUR 2025 as an example of urban and conference tourism.
The municipality received the prestigious recognition of Best SICTED Destination, highlighting its excellent management and commitment to sustainability.
The Santa Cruz Carnival, one of the capital’s most important events, continues to be an international attraction, drawing thousands of visitors.
Santa Cruz promoted the MICE segment (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), strengthening its image as an ideal destination for conferences and large events.

Puerto de la Cruz: A Window to the Atlantic
Puerto de la Cruz, one of Tenerife’s most iconic destinations, presented the promotional campaign "A Window to the Atlantic," inviting visitors to discover the connection between nature, culture, and local traditions.
The municipality showcased its unique identity, blending historical authenticity with an innovative tourism offering.

Santiago del Teide promoted two major sporting events at FITUR: the 50th Subida a Tamaimo, part of the Spanish Mountain Cup, and the 5th Clásica de Santiago del Teide, which, for the first time, includes electric and hybrid vehicles.
These events demonstrate the municipality’s strong link to sports tourism and sustainability.
Beyond events, Santiago del Teide highlighted its unique natural landscapes, such as the Teno Rural Park, ideal for hiking and outdoor activities.

This commitment was recognized with the Smart Tourism Destination (DTI) certification.
Arona presented key events such as the Carnaval Internacional de Los Cristianos, one of the region’s most important events, and the Spring Surfest Las Américas Pro, a sports competition that combines surfing and sustainability.

Granadilla de Abona: Nature Between Sea and Mountains
Granadilla de Abona presented the campaign "Granadilla de Abona, Unique," highlighting its ability to combine sea and mountains in a single tourism offering.
Water sports are the municipality’s flagship attraction, thanks to favorable climatic conditions and the quality of its waters.
The municipality also focused on promoting rural tourism in mountain areas, enhancing nature and local traditions. Its adherence to the Biosphere certification system strengthened its commitment to sustainable and high-quality tourism.
